A part is whatever your unit of measure is, ounce to ounce, cup to cup, etc. For example: If you were measuring in ounces, 3 parts water to 1 part Oil Eater would be - 3 ounces of water to 1 ounce of Oil Eater - RETURN TO TOP How do I clean stains on my concrete driveway / garage floor? Saturate the stain with Oil Eater full strength. Allow Oil Eater to penetrate the stain for about 10 minutes. Agitate the stain lightly with a broom or brush. Rinse the surface thoroughly or soak up with a shop rag. Uncoated concrete is very porous; it almost acts like a sponge. If the stain is not completely gone after one application, wait 24 hours and repeat the process. This allows the concrete to "breath" bringing what was soaked in up to the surface. Old or deep stains may need multiple applications. Keep each application at least 24 hours apart to be most effective. - RETURN TO TOP How do I clean stains from my carpet / upholstery? Spray the stain with Oil Eater at 3 parts water to 1 part Oil Eater. Allow it to penetrate the stain for 2, or 3 minutes. Use a white cloth or paper towel to blot - never scrub, working from the outside towards the middle. After the stain has been picked up, mist the area with water and blot it up. - RETURN TO TOP How do I clean my entire carpet using an extractor? First, vacuum the carpet. Second, mist the carpet with Oil Eater 3 parts water to 1 part Oil Eater. Allow to penetrate for 2, or 3 minutes. Fill your extractor with hot water and rinse the carpet*. Extract one way and then extract again going in a perpendicular way to the first. *Kafko recommends that you do not put Oil Eater or any other chemical in your extractor for the following reasons: 1) When you pass your extractor over the carpet, the machine extracts it almost immediately, never giving the chemical a chance to do its job. 2) If you do not rinse with water, you will leave a residue of the chemical in the carpet. This residue will be reactivated every time you walk on it, causing it to resoil faster. - RETURN TO TOP How do I clean siding with a pressure washer? Pre spray* the siding**with Oil Eater 10 parts water to 1 part Oil Eater. Work from the top down. Allow 5 minutes dwell time. Rinse with your pressure washer. Without a pressure washer: Prespray the siding**with Oil Eater 10 parts water to 1 part Oil Eater using a pump up sprayer. Allow 5-6 minutes dwell time. Treat any specific stains such as tree sap or bird droppings with Oil Eater full strength. Agitate with a soft bristle brush or broom. Rinse with water.*Prespraying any surface with a pressure washer should be done at low pressure. If your pressure washer doesn't have this option, use a pump up sprayer. **Rinse any over spray on windows before it dries. - RETURN TO TOP Can I Use Oil Eater in my laundry? Yes. Oil Eater works best as a prespot. Saturate the stain with Oil Eater full strength & wash as normal. - RETURN TO TOP What about using Oil Eater on set in stains?
